Went for a walk on the beach this afternoon. Beautiful colors.
Tomorrow we will leave Bimini and start a multi-day sail to the Exumas.
Last night we had wild winds of 30+ knots out of the South. A thunderstorm blew through around 0530 and winds shifted and are now from the West. The winds are stronger but we are in the lee of the island so it is calmer now on the boat.
This is pre-gaming though. Tina Ouellette is big Patriots fan. So we are watching the end of Falcons vs. Packers.
Very nice Mass. Singing was enthusiastic and included every verse for the songs. I took a picture of Sue on the walk back to the boat.
During our Gulf Stream crossing Sue spotted a whale frolicking on the surface. Thankfully the whale stayed clear of us and we steered away from the whale.
Neat to see. These are not the best pictures but if you look hard you can see the spout.in the center.
Note the difference between the compass heading of 120 degrees and the course over ground on the chart plotter which says 84 degrees. This is because the gulf stream is running north so fast. We pointed the boat east southeast and end up going almost due east.
Our speed over ground averaged a bit over 6 knots.
Sunset looking west from Bimini. We left Dinner Key in Florida at 0330 and arrived at Blue Water Resort Marina at 1300. Great crossing with a buddy boat called Our Log. We were able to motor sail for most of the trip.
Below is a picture of the sunrise as headed East from Key Biscayne.
The boat in the Foto is called Moonlight Serenade. They are from Urbana, VA. We spoke with them a bit as we were taking pictures.
